How to lose weight quickly without working out

Hey Everyone!

Remember when I said I was a fatty? (P90X vs Bikram Yoga) Well, since then I’ve lost 25 pounds and counting.

I wish I could say that I kicked P90x’s butt and that’s why I lost so much weight, but the truth is I accomplished this by merely not eating a lot of junk food and walking 3-4 miles a day. Once I even walked 13 miles in one day from Woodland Hills to Studio City!

My average meal this past month was half a chicken breast over rice, frozen vegetables, and a piece of fruit.. or lunch at ToGo’s (which is a 580 calorie sandwich.)

I counted calories for just one week, figured out the average portion size I could eat and which sandwiches at ToGo’s had less than 600 calories. Then I ate consistently for a month. It was easy because I only had to pay attention to calories and portion size once, then I just followed the rules I created.

Check out how handsome and skinny I am now. Chablis took this photo of me just yesterday while breaking my diet at Home Restaurant in Los Feliz.

Adventure Paul

No, I lied.. that was at Cheesecake Factory for lunch. You caught me breaking my diet twice in one blog post. Do you see the mini-Adventure Paul staring back at me in the glass reflection? He’s almost nibbling on my ear like he must know I like.

Listen, it’s easy to lose weight.. just eat less and move more. Be active and walk places instead of drive if you have the time. Take the stairs instead of the elevator every time. Also eat fruit instead of candy because it tastes just as good, gives you the same sugar rush, but also provides nutrients that candy does not. If Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups provided me with my daily intake of vitamins, I’d buy them in bulk from GNC on Discount Tuesday. But they don’t, so I eat grapes instead now.

A week ago I was P90Xing it up with Scott and I put a 25lb weight on my shoulder and said, “I used to walk around with this much extra weight.”  The extra pounds had become noticeable to me because I had started to walk different.. pushing my stomach out in front of me. Now I’m back to my patented walk of wiggling my butt and swinging my arms too much.

Do you have a Victoria’s Secret Model Workout? Because that’s the body I want.

  • Cory

As a possible alternate route: I 30-40 lbs in about 10 months by getting Crohn’s Disease. It took over a year to gain that weight back. I don’t recommend this route for most people though – it’s a bit taxing.

  • Chablis

Amazing! May we see a before shot prior to the weight loss?

Despite the way it feels, losing weight isn’t a mysterious process. It’s a simple matter of burning more calories than you eat. But, if it were really that simple, none of us would have a weight problem, would we? Weight loss can be such a struggle that we start thinking we have to do something drastic to see results — diets, pills or those weird fitness gadgets on infomercials that promise instant success.

A lot of people try new crash diets and lose a few pounds but it’s impossible to continue doing it for a longer duration and as soon as they stop they gain even more weight when they started out.

First of don’t trust all the big health and diet companies/magazines; they’re only after your money, only a few of them are real. Because of all the media you see today about weight loss most people are misinformed, one source say one thing and another source says the opposite.

First things first. Before you start a diet, I strongly recommend that you commit to making a lifestyle change. Many people who began a program simply just do whatever the program is… and that’s it. Unfortunately, this is not going to work. The reason why is because you have to also ensure that you are exercising at least 3 times a week, drinking a lot of water, cleansing your body (detoxifying), getting plenty of sleep, etc.

Second, eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day Fruits and vegetables are packed with beneficial fibres, vitamins and antioxidants. They fill up your stomach fast so you feel full earlier. They are also low in calories and helps to keep your calorie count low.

Third, most people get caught up with the typical mindset that in order to lose weight, all they have to do is the “eat less move more” approach. My friend, please do not think that this is all that it’s going to take to get in shape. I thought the same thing, and the only thing that ended up happening was my metabolism slowed down and I had a loss of energy!

The best thing to do is to stop going on crazy crash diets and go the natural way so you can still enjoy what you’re eating, say no to weight loss pills and say no to multimillion dollar companies that are trying to scam you with their latest myths. Stick to a simple diet plan that you can still enjoy and you will see results before you know it.

    This is SO true:

“Now I’m back to my patented walk of wiggling my butt and swinging my arms too much.”

I would never have been able to pinpoint the details of your walk, but this was a great description. I can see it now.

I think that weight loss is probably 90% nutrition. Good for you for your hard work and for having the self-control to avoid chocolate.

On another note – I demand that you tell your readers about torturing me in college. Story 1: “teacher’s pet”, or more commonly known as “the rock incident”. Story 2: randomly spotting my best friend from afar and running up behind her with no warning and tackling her to the ground while she was carrying a 50 pound backpack going uphill, which pinned her to the ground and make her look like an idiot as I ran off and pretended not to know her!!!

    Just a suggestion. :)

HEY FIZZLE.. I wrote this update about losing weight per your request. So one day I’ll write the torturous stories I put you through in college per your demand. :)

Sounded like more than a suggestion. :) ~
