The past couple weeks I’ve been spending a lot of time with Nicole, an actress from Asheville NC, and also one of my best-friends since we were kids. First we built her a website to use as an online portfolio. Like most of the new sites I build, we built http://nicoleleedurant.com using a WordPress content management system. This way she can update the site in the future herself, post new videos, pictures, and news updates.
We started discussing the website over lunch at Tereza’s Chorizo’s in the Grove Arcade, downtown Asheville NC. Her boyfriend Kris, also one of my best-friends since pre-Nicole, joined us for lunch. I had never been to this restaurant before but they both had. I bothered the waitress and asked her what every other person around me was eating until I decided.

It was pretty good food minus the price. I could’ve dealt with my meal costing $5 less.
We went back to my super-computer and built the rough draft version of NicoleLeeDurant.com
A couple days later I go to Kris and Nicole’s place to work on the site, but first we went swimming. As soon as we walk into the gated pool, an older woman sitting there asks “Do you live here??” Kris says, “Yes, #14.”
I guess I find it rude for someone to ask an interrogating question without saying hello first so I immediately say, “Do YOU live here?” She says, “Yes, I live in blah blah.”
Me: “Oh cool, I don’t really care. I just figured that was your way of saying hello and asking how we are doing.. so I wanted to be polite to you too.”

It’s weird because she looked at us and thought “Darn these young people. They’re going to bother me while I’m at the pool.” But that’s weird because I’m not that young anymore. I’m old enough that if some teenagers walked into the pool while I was sitting there–I might have thought the same thing about them. How old do you have to get before people in their mid-twenties become “young hooligans.”
Also we saw a bunny.

The last of my adventures with Nicole this week happened the next day when she called and asked me to help her post signs for her uncle’s concert this Friday. “I’ll drive you jump out and hang them.” We had about 30 minutes to do all this before she had to go to work, so I hustled. I did, however, find the time to TAG a few of the signs.

The concert is this Friday, June 11th at 9:30pm at Tolliver’s Crossing in West Asheville. Nicole’s uncle Tony is part of the band, 4 Rounds Left. I’ve seen him play a couple times in the past. Check them out if you’d like.
