Thank you everyone who contributed gas money to help get Jennifer Smith to American Idol this weekend. Only thing left is to feed the girl so she can have the energy to blow the judges away this weekend. Anything you can give is wonderful and much appreciated.

Yesterday Hot Neile and I passed out fliers and collected donations in downtown Asheville NC. We also had some fun in between at The French Broad Chocolate Lounge. I got a milkshake with Madagascar Bean Vanilla ice-cream from Ultimate Icecream.
I used to work at the Ultimate Icecream location behind Pomadora’s in East Asheville back when I was in high school and Ron Levitan owned the shop. It’s fantastic made-from-scratch ice-cream.
Neile ordered the Chocolate Lounge’s signature drink, a smoked maple salted liquid truffle that was so filling, I ended up pouring half into my milkshake.

There were not too many folks out and about downtown, probably because of the rain, so we tried our luck at the Asheville Mall. The security guards gave us suspicious looks but we flew under their radar and passed out fliers. I also took a picture with who I referred to as “cardboard cut out Martha Stuart”.

After Jennifer got off work, we returned downtown with her for an impromptu concert in front of the Asheville Court House.
